Introduction
3D Complex is a hierarchical classification of protein complexes that describes similarities in structure, sequence, as well as topology of contacts of the constituent proteins. This is the first automatic method for generating non-redundant sets of complexes, which can be used to derive unbiased statistics on their structure and evolution. Through this Web Server, you can:
- Browse the classification of protein complexes,
- Search for protein complexes according various attributes,
- Download non-rednundant sets of protein complexes (e.g. all hetero- or homodimers in PDB) at various similarity thresholds,

- Generally, the back-end has been extensively re-worked to provide you with more frequent updates.
- SCOP 1.75C has been incorporated, yielding 30,000 additional structures and a total of over 90,000 structures.
- PiQSi is not yet updated - but should be soon.
- Although SCOP information is still available, we have used PFAM domains to define remote homologies in order to maximize coverage .
- Roll over a graph image and a menu will pop-up, which allows you, to search in one click all structures containing a similar complex, chain, or domain to the one you selected.
- The definition of the hierarchy has been revised to provide more accurate non-redundant sets. We recommend you to look at the documentation of this release for more details.
